Choose the right date... for you
When it comes to organising a wedding, the first thing to think about is when! Do you like spring, summer, autumn or winter months? Have you always dreamt of a wedding in the summer, on a seaside location? Or with the snow? Are your favourite flowers blossoming in spring or late summer?
For us, we were initially thinking to pick a bank holiday, so our anniversary would have always fallen always on a holiday!

Our wedding day
Our wedding day was the best day in my life so far.
I had a tiny mental breakdown the night before the wedding, when I was very stressed hoping everything was going to be amazing. Also, I was terribly missing Thomas, who slept in the hotel while I stayed at my parents’ house. I think every bride experienced that at some point during the wedding preparation, for me that happened the night before my wedding.

Our wedding venue: il Castello di Cavernago (BG, Italy)
One of the first things we did after choosing the date of our marriage, was to start looking for the perfect location where to celebrate our wedding day! I am from the North of Italy, from a little town in the county of Bergamo (BG), so we wanted to celebrate our marriage in Italy. However, in order to make the journey accessible to all our guests, some of which were coming from the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, etc.

Rome
Rome, in Italy, it is also known as the Eternal City. And believe me, it truly is. There is so much history at every corner and if you love architecture, Rome is the place to visit! There are hundreds of churches at every corner and even if you are not religious, you’ll agree that their paintings, frescoes and architectures are stunning and deserve a visit!
We loved every corner of this city!

County Clare
Thomas’ parents have a house in Ireland, in a small town on the West Coast. If you love nature as we do, Ireland is truly the right place for you! It is such a lovely and welcoming country filled with traditional music and lovely people.
It’s also the best place where to detach from reality. Since internet coverage is ok, but limited, and broadband is not very fast, you can finally read that book you had on your bedside table for so long and enjoy the birds, the sea, the views leaving your phone at home!

Sky Garden (London)
As this page is called Lombard in London, you were probably wondering why I haven’t talked about London yet… it took me a while to actually sit down and think to which is my favourite place is London (as there are quite a few!)… honestly, there is so much to choose from that it has been very hard!
However, I think that the Sky Garden (https://skygarden.london) could be in my top 10.

Welcome to my blog
Hi,
This is my first post on my first ever blog, so it’s difficult to know where to start!
I am Alessandra and I am Italian. I moved to London almost 5 years ago for a 6 months Master thesis’ project and I just felt so much in love with London (and found my husband to be!) that I have decided to stay a bit longer! I have never imagined my life would have been so surprising!
